Pakistani Citizen Vote in Indian Elections?
पाकिस्तानचा नागरिक ओसामा या नावाचा माणूस भारताच्या निवडणुकीत मतदान केल्याचा दावा सोशल मीडियावर जोरदार व्हायरल झाला आहे. ओसामा सुमारे १७ वर्षांपासून भारतात राहतोय आणि त्याच्याकडे राशन कार्ड आहे. त्याने स्वतः सांगितले की, “मी निवडणुकीतही मतदान केले आहे. माझं भवितव्य पाकिस्तानात काय होईल?”
A Pakistani citizen named Osama claims to have voted in Indian elections, and this claim has gone viral on social media. Osama has reportedly lived in India for about 17 years and holds a ration card. He stated, “I have also voted in elections here. What would my future be in Pakistan?”
पण भारताच्या निवडणूक आयोगाने (ECI) स्पष्ट केले आहे की, परदेशी नागरिक किंवा एनआरआय (नॉन-रेजिडेंट इंडियन) यांना भारतात मतदानाचा अधिकार नाही. अशाच प्रकारे, OCI (ओव्हरसिज सिटीझन ऑफ इंडिया) कार्डधारकांसुद्धा मतदानाची परवानगी नसते. OCI ही योजना २००५ मध्ये सुरू झाली आणि ही ज्यांना भारताचे पूर्वज होते त्यांना दिली जाते, मात्र पाकिस्तान आणि बांग्लादेशसारख्या देशांना या योजनेतून वगळण्यात आले आहे.
However, the Election Commission of India (ECI) clearly states that foreign nationals and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) do not have voting rights in India. Even OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholders are not permitted to vote. The OCI scheme was launched in 2005 and is available to those whose ancestors were Indian citizens, but countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh are excluded from this scheme.
पहलगाम हल्ल्यांनंतर भारत सरकारने पाकिस्तानविरोधात कडक निर्णय घेतले आहेत. भारतात अनेक पाकिस्तानी नागरिक वैद्यकीय उपचार, विवाह किंवा व्यवसायासाठी स्थायिक झालेले आहेत. अशा लोकांनी भारताच्या निवडणुकीत मतदान केले असल्याचा दावा असल्यास तो गंभीर आहे आणि याची योग्य चौकशी होण्याची आवश्यकता आहे.
Following the Pulwama attack, the Indian government has taken strict measures against Pakistan. Many Pakistani nationals have settled in India for medical treatment, marriage, or business. If such individuals have voted in Indian elections, it is a serious matter that requires proper investigation.
